Santa Pic

So our Santa picture didn't turn out that great this year. Up until the moment he was on the Big Guy's lap he was happy, and the moment I took him off he was happy. I guess it's just the age.

I was actually just happy to get it over with- I've never had to go through this much effort for a picture. We actually attempted the picture the day before. After getting the kids all dressed up, doing Abby's hair, keeping tights clean the whole way there, avoiding the Disney store... the lady closed the line for Santa's break right in front of us. We couldn't wait the 1 1/2 until he came back, so we went home. The next day, we tried again. But this time, it took us all day to get dressed and out of the house. By the time we got there, the line was 1 1/2 hours long! With a sigh, I dragged the kids all the way around the huge Christmas tree and found our spot. I figured with all this effort, at least I should be rewarded with a decent picture.

Oh well. At least we have something to laugh about for years to come :)

maybe it makes me a mean mom, but I think the crying pictures with Santa are hilarious :>) He will too, one day!

That happened to me last year, except I didn't dress the kids up and we didn't have to try twice. Okay, so not nearly so much trouble, but we did have to drive down there, wait in line forever! and Abigail was so angry about the picture. It looks kind-of like yours. Two kids smiling nicely, one looking like it's being tortured. This year, we didn't plan on doing a Santa picture, but we passed by and there was no line. As soon as I put Abigail on Santa's lap she screamed so I immediately picked her up, and I have a good picture with two of the kids. :) Anyway, long story. Sorry about the pain you had to go through, and I feel ya.

I think this picture is great! Even though there are tears, you will laugh at this one day. Your children are darling. Happy New Year!

'Maybe it's just the age??!' I'd do the same thing today if someone tried to make me sit on and talk to a strange man wearing gloves! :)
